Our friend Charlotte deep in the practice…

With virtual sound meditation, the audio quality matters. With the right pair of headphones, it can feel like you’re right next to these sweet harmonic instruments, and their elaborate overtones are putting you in a state of ease and calm.

We compiled a list of some of our favorite headphones listed with their price, their pros and their cons for you to take with you on your sound meditation journeys with us. No matter what headphones you choose, we recommend you also use Comply Foam Tips for noise cancellation and comfort. They’re priced at $24.99 and are worth the investment for your comfort. (Note: these are designed for earbud headphones).

LUX (the best of the best)

The first set of headphones we love are Sony WH-1000XM4 which have been rated as the best headphones of 2020 according to TechRadar, “the headphones that do it all”. It’s one of those investments that’ll not only take you away on a cloud of etheric vibrations, gongs and crystal singing bowls in one of our sound baths, but also an investment that’ll be useful to you in other ways. It boasts excellent noise cancellation, a light-weight beautiful design, amazing sound quality, and a solid 30 hours of battery life. They come in at the price of $278.00. One of their drawbacks though is they’re not water resistant so be mindful if you’re taking them with you to the beach or in a relaxing bath.

The next set on our docket are Beats Solo3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones by Dr Dre. We love them for their strong , yet not overpowering, bass, high quality sound, excellent noise cancelling capabilities, and whopping 40-hour battery life. They also come in a variety of colors (I really like the rose gold) and they’re priced at $179.56 on Amazon right now. The only thing we don’t love is the plastic-y looking aesthetic but honestly, the pros really outweigh this con and for an investment in quality sound gear, this is a sound one.

PS— we’ve heard great things about the Apple AirPods.

MID (good quality, reasonable price)

We’ve selected two mid-range priced headphone sets that we think you’ll also love. Our sound meditation community members absolutely love the Audiotechnica M50x series. They are known for their excellent quality and high-end audio sound, and they come in at a more affordable price of $149.00. Their drawback is that they don’t have quite as impactful of an energetic and vivid sound as some of the more higher end headphones we’ve already covered, but they do come in a few different colours and are comfortable to wear.

The second low to mid-range price headphones set is 1More Triple Driver In-Ear Headphone. We love its excellent sound quality, stellar build & design, and good value (it ranges between $60 to $76). The downside is the plastic remote feels a bit cheap but we love immersing ourselves in a blissful sound journey with these bad boys especially when we pair them with our Comply Foam Tips.

LOW (sound magic on a budget)

Sometimes we just want something at a very affordable price without sacrificing too much in the way of quality which is why we love MX1 from MEE audio. It’s priced at $59.99 and boasts great bass, high sound quality and very comfortable to wear (nearly custom-level comfort). We do however find that the treble isn’t the best but for a product in this more affordable range, we aren’t that mad about it.

And finally, the cute and stylish Riwbox comes in at about $32.00 making it the most affordable option with great noise cancellation and pretty good sound! It is a bit light on the treble but we love the various colors it comes in!
